March 2015 Newsletter

March 2015

Happy Spring!!  Hopefully we will soon be opening our windows, bringing out the deck furniture, planting our gardens, mowing our lawns and grilling out.

Upcoming Dates to mark on your calendar

  • Volunteers for Beach area clean up: Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 at 9a until finished
  • Mandatory for Slip renters – Boat Launch clean up: Sunday – May 3, 2015 at 9am sharp!
  • Annual Meeting: Saturday – July 11, 2015 with rain date of Sunday – July 12, 2015

Annual Dues

There are still some outstanding invoices for the Annual Dues.  If it was an oversight, if you need another invoice or if you need to make payments, please contact the Board asap so we can work at making you current and a member in good standing.

Trash

As of Monday March 9th, there will only be one pick-up day per week as opposed to both Mondays and Wednesdays.  You should be putting your regular trash can and your recycling can out for Monday’s pick-up weekly.

New Mail Box

For your convenience, there is now a secure mail box located near the entrance to the beach and it is checked daily.  Please feel free to mail or deposit your CLBA checks in the locked box.  Never deposit cash into the box!!  Thank you for your cooperation.

Boat Slips

Boat Slip applications have gone out to past slip renters. By April 15th we will know if there are openings.  There will be a lottery at the Annual Meeting for those open slips and the $250 fee must be paid at that time.  Please contact the Board if you are interested in being in the lottery for an open boat slip.

Volunteers

CLBA relies on neighborhood involvement.  Volunteering for a committee is important to get things done, as well as keeping things in order. Your help is encouraged and appreciated.   If you are interested in donating your time to one of these worthy causes, please contact the Board for more information. Thank you in advance!!!

  • Beautification Committee is in charge of the Beach and Park area. Volunteers are needed to keep the landscape clean of branches and debris.
  • By-laws Committee needs 3 homeowners to assist in reviewing and updating the current by-laws. This includes going door to door to ask residents to sign petitions.
  • Flower Garden – did you know CLBA has a garden filled flowers near the beach area that could be gorgeous with a little hard work? We need volunteers who like to get their hands dirty pulling weeds and maintaining the flowers for everyone to enjoy.

CLBA Common Area Properties

This belongs to you!  Please help keep it clean and let the Board know if you see anyone damaging our beach or park area, the boat launch, the walkways or anywhere else. If caught, they will be prosecuted and fined to the fullest extent of the law!

Landscaping

We are currently taking bids for Summer Landscaping including Spring and Fall clean-up for the common areas.  If you know anyone interested, please contact the Board with their information.

Parking

Please do not park on the streets for any reason.  Not only is it against county ordinances, it hinders emergency vehicles from quickly and safely reaching our neighbors in need.  Cars may be tagged, ticketed or towed at the owners expense if found to be in violation.   If additional short term parking is required, please contact the Board for help.

Neighborhood Watch

Summer will be here soon.  Please watch out for yourself and your neighbors.  Report any suspicious activity to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.  Do not attempt to take matters into your own hands!!  If you observe any suspicious activity, please call the Lake County Sherriff’s non-emergency number: 847-549-5200.  In the event of an emergency CALL 911

We welcome any of your ideas, suggestions, or concerns as well.  Please send them to the Association email and a Board member will get back to you.  We are also working on updating the website which will be a way for you to know what’s going on at all times.

Please share all of this information with your tenants.  They have a right to know what is going on in their neighborhood.
